Three storey Federation Free style hotel,
featuring face brick with mouldings and timber double hung windows above
the awning level. The elevation is divided into bays with engaged brick
pilasters. There is a balconette at first floor level, and a cartouche
at the parapet on the corner. The ground floor has been significantly
altered and the original tiling replaced. The site was originally part of a land grant of 70 acres to John Palmer dating from April 1st 1794, which was then named 'George Farm' . Later it became part of the Riley Estate. The site is located on Block A8 of the 1845 Riley Estate subdivision (Kass, 1984). Special thanks to http://www.heritage.nsw.gov.au/ |
